Recently my life has been crazy stressful. I am talking major life changes kind of stressful! With a million tasks, ideas, thoughts, etc. running through my head I need to find some inner peace in my day! I have never been able to handle any sort of stress well, but throughout the years I have learned a few ways to calm down, even if only for a little bit.
This is my most recent discovery and I am in love! You can simply smell them, add them to a bath, or my favorite way of putting a few drops in a diffuser. The combination of water vapor at relaxing lavender scents is a great way to physically calm down.
Okay now I am no meditation expert but I consider any silent, deep breathing time my version of meditation. The best way for me to fully relax in silent is by taking a bath with some lavender detox soaking salts. Just enjoy the alone time in some nice warm water and deep breaths.
A Good Book
Spending time with a good book is somewhat of a lost art. I have to admit most nights I am on my phone or watching TV but when things get overwhelming, getting lost in a good story. Albert Camus is my favorite author and if you are looking for a weird and thought provoking story, try The Stranger. If reading isn’t your thing, I absolutely love Audible!
Sometimes you have to pamper yourself! Face masks are not only great for your skin but just makes you feel more relaxed. The best part, you don’t even have to spend a lot of money or time! Pick up some single use sheet masks or mud masks from the drugstore, pour a glass of wine, and take at least 10 minutes to treat yourself!
Like a good book, music is something I can get lost in. Spotify is how I listen to all my music, and the best part is there are already pre-made playlists for every mood! The calming or soothing playlist just help to turn my mind off after a busy day.
