Hi hi!!
I have been OBSESSED with hats the past couple of months, and this summer is no exception! Whether hitting the beach or just spending the day in the sun, a floppy hat is always a good idea. Not only will it keep your gorgeous face protected from the sun but add some fun to any summertime look. With that being said, i have been seeing this hat, or at least a variation of it all over my Instagram!
This hat at Nordstrom by Eugenia King is…get ready for it… $485!!! WHAT?! Yes that is right $485.
Now I don’t know about you, but I can certainly not afford a hat that expensive, but of course it is to die for. So I decide naturally to d.i.y it! In totally the whole project cost me about $15 which is much more affordable!
Supplies:
Sequin ribbon
Straw hat
E6000 glue or hot glue
Scissors
Tape
Chalk
Step 1: You have to figure out to saying and text you want to do on the hat! There are so many cute sayings to choose from it can be hard to narrow done. Some of my favorites are “sun of a beach”, “little miss sunshine”, “fiesta not siesta”, and”beach please”.
Step 2: Sp you can lay out your text in a couple ways. You can draw it out with chalk, use a stencil, or just freehand it with the sequin ribbon. I freehanded the ribbon and then used masking tape to make sure everything stayed in place.
Step3: Glue! Glue! Glue! glue down the ribbon, and viola you have a super cute sun hat!
