The trench coat is one of those must haves in any woman’s closet. It is so simple and chic, yet universally flattering. No matter what size or shape you are, this coat will make you look slimmer. The trick: the belted waist! Since the beginning of time women have been striving for a tiny waist. For some body shapes, the tiny waist is natural, but for those women like me, we have to fake it! Our waists get tinier with the tied belt and the slight flare helps to camouflage any problem areas.
This Burberry trench is what started it all. It is a gorgeous double breasted coat in a perfect camel color. This coat does however come with a pretty price tag. At $1,295 this coat is for the lucky few. Instead of spending about 2 months rent, I tried to find a similar coat in design but more in my budget.
I found what I was looking for in this trench from Forever21. While it may not be made of the same luxe materials, it looks pretty close to the Burberry coat. This version however is only $49.90! While this may still seem like a lot of money, I look at it this way, this coat will never go out of style.This coat will last you years to come and again will look good on virtually every body type!
HOW TO STYLE:
Because of the simple design, the trench coat can be styled quite easily into any outfit. Being a lighter weight jacket, the trench looks great over a dress on a rainy day or with jeans and a tee to tie a rather casual outfit together.
